Sintica Winery was established in 2008 and is located on a site where centuries ago the Sinti tribe grew vines and produced wine. In the middle of the last century the winery was a complex experimental station, and now it is a modern wine complex, and only the underground cellar, where the wines are stored and aged, has been preserved from the former production building. It is there that varieties such as Early Melnik Vine, Melnik Rubin, Sandanski Misket, etc. were created. Sintica Winery has its own vineyards, most of which are local varieties characteristic of the region of the town of Sandanski, including Melnik 1300, Melnik 82, but also intermediate varieties such as Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah and others.
Over the decades, the experimental agrarian centre, which was located on the site of today's winery, developed numerous clones and variations of different crops, leaving a bright trace through the creation of the unique grape varieties Early Melnik (Melnik 55), Melnishki Rubin, Sandanski Misket, etc. As the successor of these traditions, since its establishment, the winery Sintica strives to create high quality, memorable and complex terroir wines with its own signature, reflecting the specificity and uniqueness of the region.
