Libera Estate is named after the goddess of fertility and freedom, and the project itself is a boutique with short-run wine production. It was launched in 2013 with the production of limited experimental series of wines from different grape varieties.
The mission of Libera Estate is to show the true face of Bulgarian wine combining traditions and modern wine trends. They work with Early Melnik (Melnik 55), Shiroka Melnishka loza, Melnik 82, Sandanski Misket and Keratsuda, but also with the classics - Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Assyrtiko, Chardonnay and others. Local varieties are the leading motif in the wines produced.
Although it has been a short time since the company has been on the market, Libera Estate wines have established themselves as a symbol of the region with proven quality. There's no denying the region's heritage - the Struma Valley is influenced by warm air currents coming along the Struma River from the White Sea. The climate is characterised by high temperatures in summer and mild and wet winters, which are favourable for growing quality grapes.
