The idea for Orbelia Winery started back in 2007 with the acquisition of 23 dka of old plantings of Shiroka Melnishka loza, and then a phased planting of more vines. Somehow naturally the winery itself appeared in 2013, which is located at the base of the Belasitsa Mountain, in the village of Kolarovo, and the winery carries the Thracian name of the mountain. Currently the vineyards are 220 dka, located in the area of Mitinovo and Starchevo near Petrich. Mainly typical for the region varieties such as Early Melnik and Shiroka Melnishka loza, Melnik 1300, Melnik 82, Ruen, Rubin, Sandanski Misket, but also international ones such as Viognier, Syrah, etc. are grown.
The architecture and the interior of the winery are in harmony with the Bulgarian lifestyle and culture. The idea is to show its beauty and uniqueness, and to preserve it over time. That is why a visit to Orbelia Winery is like a wine journey through time, which recreates the love for Bulgarian traditions. In no way, however, are the advantages of modern equipment underestimated, which makes it possible to create top-quality wines that meet modern trends.
